New MAGNUM 340N
The 40 mtr Yagi you have been
looking for!
Force 12, Inc. continues to
listen to customers and has developed the new, longer
"N" element for 40 meter dipoles and Yagis. The
tremendous features are:
- Elements are approximately 81-85% of full
size, which means the antenna is almost identical to full
size performance (within 0.1 or 0.2dB, depending on the
model).
- This antenna can be mounted within 7' of a
Force 12 monobander or multi-monobander (e.g. C-3,
C-31XR, 5BA, etc.) without affecting it; same for the 2
element Yagi and dipole.
- The high efficiency linear loading is
pre-formed, solid rod (just like the C-3SS) and runs
outward towards the tips, eliminating any potential
problems at the center spreader.

- Tuning is done by adjusting the tip length
and the tips are pre-set and predictable (6" per tip
= 100 kHz).
- Individual element frequencies can be
verified before installation by testing at 15-20', made
possible by removeable element mounts, including the
driver.
- The elements can be set and then mounted
with the boom vertically on the tower.

- Elements are rated for 100mph (28 pounds
each, 12' of 1.875" at center) and, for additional
strength and stability, trussed with Spectra, braided
Kevlar line.
- Performance bandwidth (gain, F/B and
VSWR)is excellent, covering the entire band at K6KM's QTH
with less than 2:1 on his FT-1000MP (300' of LMR-400
feedline).

- Windload is 10.5 sqft; weight is
approximately 115 pounds; mast torque at 70 mph is
<300 inch-pounds; turning radius is 32'8" and
longest element is 58' (reflector).
- MAGNUM 340N shown installed 7.5' below a
Force 12 C-3 tribander.

- This new 40 element can also be used as a
single dipole, the MAGNUM 140N.
- Single MAGNUM 140N dipole element (no
truss) installed 5' below EF-315 3 element 15 mtr Yagi at
Field Day, 1999 on a Force 12 LPT-1242 42' Low Profile
Tower.
