The Sigma-SV5© is electrically the same as the terrific Sigma-5©, but looks like a mast with a TV antenna on top. At 11' 11" tall, including the 4' tall base post, the Sigma-SV5© draws little attention. We increased the diameter and wall thickness of all the tubing for added strength so it can be mounted on the ground, roof, or chimney. Not the greatest TV antenna, but attach the Sigma-SV5© feed line to your TV using a standard UHF-F coax adapter and you can watch local TV.

The Sigma-SV5© answers the need for everyone who wants an efficient antenna and either has limited space, or needs it to be portable. It assembles in about 5 minutes with NO tools. Add your coax and go!
The Sigma-SV5© is a true vertical dipole. This means it does not need radials, so the real estate needed is minimal. It is fully balanced and fed at the center, with the provided balun. The relay control is complete with 50' of 5-conductor control cable and a remote control switch, needing only 95ma at 12VDC (such as the rig power supply) and "all-off" is 20 meters. There are NO traps and the efficiency is >90% on 20 meters, rising to 99% on 10 meters. VSWR on all bands is less thawn 1.8:1, except on 20 meters, where it covers almost the whole band at <2:1. The 20 meter response can be set anywhere in the band.
Sigma-SV5© antenna efficiency is the same regardless of where it is mounted. The antenna system efficiency (antenna + ground + feed line) is determined by proximity to nearby objects, quality of surrounding ground and coax loss.
A quick note about the Sigma-GT5©: this fine antenna needs no lengthy explanation, as it is the Sigma-SV5© without the cosmetic TV elements. This makes the Sigma-GT5© a heavy duty model of the Sigma-5©. It is constructed in 4' lengths, using the larger diameter and thicker wall tubing as in the Sigma-SV5©. By the way, the "GT" in Sigma-GT5© stands for "Garden Trellis", as this antenna is strong enough to hang small pots from it in the garden!
